Between Heaven And Earth

This painting is first of all a gift for my dear friend , made as a "thank you" for her neverending support.

This summer (-__- yes... I'm so late...) I asked t-R-i-S-h if she'd like to have something painted by me, as a gift, and she replied that she'd love a portrait of her and her boyfriend. She kindly provided me some photoes of them togheter, telling me I could chose the one I like more and surprise her with the drawing... Well... I just hope that t-R-i-S-h will like this "strange" portrait.
Yes... Very strange, because I didn't want to paint a "regular" portrait, just copying from one of the photoes. I wanted to do something in my own style, with something fantasy in it, but without distorting their faces too much...
So, after a long time I was searching for the ispiration about it, I decided to transform them in two Elements. Initially I opted for Fire and Water, but while I was painting it, I changed in Earth and Air: I think these two are complementary, while the other two are in opposition.

By the way, I won't upload the photo I used as a reference, because it's t-R-i-S-h's property and she will decide about it.


As always I painted it with Photoshop CS and my Wacom Tablet. I really don't know in how many time... I painted it in the last three days, in my free time.
